Kiwi Bluetooth Android Phone Car Diagnostic Kit
Check Engine? WTF does that mean?
- Connect your Android phone to your car wirelessly
- Run diagnostics, check fuel economy, tons more
- Works on any car model 1996 or newer
If you’re not a car geek, the light that says “CHECK ENGINE” might as well say “PC LOAD LETTER.” Sure, we can open the hood and verify that indeed, the engine is still present, but beyond that, we’re a little lost. Best we can do is drive it to the garage and hope that we don’t get totally bamboozled by the mechanic again. We already bought the anti-unicorn disinfectant treatment once! It’s supposed to protect the air filter from glitter for life, right?

Canine Shower Stall
Posted by Daoco in Great Ideas, Unique Designs on March 25, 2011
This dog shower has 16 water-jet nozzles and a showerhead that wash and rinse your canine in an enclosed space. The jet nozzles produce vigorous streams of water that penetrate even the thickest coats to clean pet hair and remove dead skin cells. A handheld, adjustable-flow showerhead has a 38″ hose that allows you to easily wash and rinse the paws, underbody, and other hard-to-reach areas. Two integrated leashes gently restrain pets and dual locking doors keep dogs confined. The shower’s 31″-high walls and a partial, clear plastic roof help keep water inside the shower (and off of you) yet allow access to the dog. The spa connects to a spigot or faucet using the included adapters and a garden hose or a 1/2″ braided metal hose. A 2′-long flexible drainpipe channels used water out of the shower. The shower has two locking casters, the 9 1/2′ cu. interior accommodates dogs up to 200 lbs., and a removable shelf elevates small canines.

Hoseless Evaporative Cooling Fan
Posted by Daoco in Gadgets, Great Ideas on March 23, 2011
This misting outdoor fan makes a patio or deck as comfortable as an air-conditioned room without being tethered to a garden hose. Encountered in luxury resorts and outdoor cafes, the fan reduces the air temperature by as much as 30º F. by gently misting the surrounding area. Its six patented nozzles create micro-fine droplets that feel dry to the touch and evaporate almost instantly, providing refreshing cooling without the soaking spray common with lesser misting fans. An eight-gallon reservoir holds enough water for up to eight hours of continuous misting; the density of mist adjusts with a simple turn of a dial. The 30″ fan’s high-velocity three-speed motor is waterproof and can oscillate 50º, cooling up to a 1000′ sq. area. Because flying insects typically avoid wind and moisture, the fan also helps reduce these outdoor nuisances. The fan features weather-resistant powder-coated metal and plastic construction, with two wheels on the base that provide easy mobility. Plugs into AC. Height adjusts from 47″ to 60″. 30″ Diam. base

Illuminating Reading Glasses
Posted by Gadget_Guy in Gadgets, Unique Designs on March 21, 2011
These are the reading glasses that clearly illuminate subjects immediately in front of you while keeping the surrounding area in darkness. With built-in LEDs in the upper corners of the lens frame, they are ideal for reading in bed without disturbing a sleeping partner, repairing a fuse during a power outage, or examining a map in the car without inconveniencing the driver. Each of the glasses’s two LEDs provide 16 lumens and are angled inward, creating two efficient, overlapping cones of light, providing 4X the light of lesser models. Four CR1632 batteries that fit into the frame provide up to 50 hours of illumination. The optical quality frames are made of plastic; high-quality refractive lenses are available in three different strengths (+1.5, +2.0, +2.5). Not available for shipment to New York. Includes protective patent leather case with felt lining: 6 1/2″ L x 2″ W. (4 oz.)

The Half Acre Natural Attractant Mosquito Trap
Posted by Gadget_Guy in Gadgets, Great Ideas on March 8, 2011
Winner of the Ideas, Inventions, and Novelties Exhibition (IENA) award for invention, this is the superior insect trap that uses no pesticides, yet mimics the natural conditions of human habitation by emitting light, warmth, and carbon dioxide to attract, trap, and kill nuisance insects. Unlike propane gas systems that require refills, or electrocution systems that pose sanitation problems by releasing pathogens into the air when an insect is disintegrated, carbon dioxide attractant is generated when warm ultraviolet rays from two fluorescent bulbs irradiate the trap’s funnel which is coated with titanium dioxide; carbon dioxide is the same gas expelled by humans during respiration and is the primary source of attraction for mosquitoes. Once insects enter the funnel at the upper part of the trap, they are suctioned and immobilized into the trap’s retaining cage by a quiet fan where they remain until they die of dehydration. The trap has a range of a half acre, and it can be used indoors or outdoors;

Flying Alarm Clock
Posted by Gadget_Guy in Gadgets, Great Ideas, Unique Designs, Videos on March 8, 2011
My, how time flies…ugh. I can’t believe I just said that…
It’s not that we’ve gotten lazy as a species, far from it! We’re more productive now than we’ve ever been, but with more and more work to do, we have to create time by cutting down on late night raids on Molten Core, ordering fast-food, talking on the phone while driving… The only time we have left is spent sleeping. Now you have to stay up late and get up early in an effort to get more done.
Waking up after a pitiful five hours of sleep has its own challenges, though. At ThinkGeek, we’re always looking for new ways to haul your lazy butt out of bed. Normal alarm clocks wake you up with loud noises to jar you into wakefulness, however we’ve become accustomed to the snooze-bar… Now, it’s become muscular instinct to flail your hands roughly in the direction of the noise, and smack! Nine more minutes of blissful unconsciousness. No more.
