The Solar Powered Golf Cart
Posted by Daoco in Gadgets, Great Ideas, Innovation, Solar Power on August 16, 2010

The Solar Powered Golf Cart.
This is the electric golf cart that has an array of 72 photovoltaic cells built into the roof that collect solar energy, providing up to 33% more range between recharges than non-solar electric golf carts. The cart’s 160-watt array produces up to three amps per hour for its 48-volt rechargeable battery system, providing a range of up to 49 miles–approximately 10 rounds of golf–before requiring a full recharge (overnight via its 6′ long AC adapter; 15 hours via its solar array). The array also extends the life of the battery system by 60% more than other electric golf carts. Its 5 1/2-hp electric motor and 19-spline rear axle provides a maximum speed of 24 MPH and is powerful enough to enable the cart to climb a 28° incline when fully loaded with two passengers and golf bags, supporting up to 755 lbs. The cart uses rack and pinion steering, leaf springs, and heavy shock suspension to provide a smooth, even ride on its rugged 8″ pneumatic tires. A built-in speed controller allows you to limit the maximum speed, and its self-adjusting drum brakes provide reliable stopping. Includes a two-person seat with vinyl upholstery, four cup holders, and straps for securing two golf bags. The cart has headlights, turn indicators, brake lights, and a horn. 7 3/4′ L x 3 3/4′ W x 5 3/4′ H (1,100 lbs.)

The Camera Lens Mug
Posted by Daoco in Gadgets, Great Ideas, Innovation, Unique Designs on August 2, 2010

Just a week ago, we walked into our local cafe, and our barista handed us our latte in a mug that looked just like a lens! She even topped it off with camera-shaped latte art and creamer in a film canister!
We just about died, but then we woke up instead.
Desperate for our dream to come true, we wished on shooting stars, wishbones, found pennies, fallen eyelashes…and sure enough, it worked!
Behold, the Camera Lens Mug, a mug that looks JUST LIKE a Canon 24-105mm lens!
It’s equipped with a lens-cap lid (omg), rubber-grip focus and zoom rings (o…m…g), and an auto-focus switch that actually switches (OMG)! It’s so realistic, you might have to use post-its just to remind yourself which is your mug and which is your lens!

Ear Pressure Equaliser – Relief from blocked ear pressure
Posted by Daoco in Gadgets, Great Ideas, Innovation, Inventions on July 7, 2010

Instant relief from ‘blocked’ ears and ear pressure pain. This pressure equaliser was invented by an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, so it’s entirely safe to use. Rising external pressure during flights, mountain climbing, skiing or diving etc slightly deforms our eardrums, and the resulting ‘blockage’ can be severely painful. This gadget works by producing a counteractive negative pressure inside your ear, relaxing the ear drum and Eustachian tube to allow air back into the middle ear. It’s a neat pocket size so it’s easy to carry with you, and a safety valve limits the suction force so it can never create too much pressure. Simply unwind the tube and insert the earpiece in your ear, then press the membrane gently for instant relief.
- Safe for any age 3 years +
- CE tested
- Complies with Medical Directive 93/42/EC
- Australian TV innovation award winner on ‘The New Inventors’
- Comes with 3 ear piece sizes
- Manufacturer’s 2-year guarantee
- 3½” x 2” x 1” (9 x 5.2 x 2.5cm)

Oil and Vinegar Glass
Posted by Daoco in Innovation on June 15, 2010

Ah, oil and vinegar – they’re so good together, yet they always live apart! This oil and vinegar vessel logically puts both liquids in the same container, since physics causes them to separate anyways. The clear cylindrical container has two pouring spouts on each side, one at the top for oil and one at the bottom for vinegar, so that you can pour them out separately and give your salad and breads the perfect balance of oil and vinegar.
