Smart Gun will not fire without the watch receiver

smartgun Smart Gun will not fire without the watch receiver

Not long after the smoke from the Consumer Electronics Show cleared, thousands of gun lovers converged upon the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas for the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show. It was loaded with techie stuff, too.

This year, the highest-tech gun belonged to Armatix. The German firm has an electronic safety that automatically disables the pistol when it’s not within a few inches of a custom wristwatch. The watch sends a wireless arming signal to the gun. If the gun is picking up a signal from the watch, a green LED on the back lights up. Try squeezing the handle without wearing the watch, and you will see a red warning light. Anyone can pick up a limited edition version of the pistol for about 7,000 euro, which is pretty steep for a .22cal plinker. They start shipping next month.

Bergmönch – Hiking uphill Wheeling downhill from Thomas Kaiser on Vimeo.

Climbing uphill it’s carried like a rucksack – for descents it mutates into a fun-packed downhilling device.   Uphill it’s a rucksack. Unfold in 2 minutes and then roll downhill effortlessly in an action-packed descent.

“Going uphill you can climb unrestricted, with hands and senses free, then swoosh back down to valley level either standing or kneeling according to the terrain!”

Pave Guard:
Getting rid of snow and ice forever…
using the power of the sun.

Pave Guard Technologies,® Inc. has combined subsurface heating with solar energy to present a system that will eliminate snow and ice from forming on pavement while serving as an alternative energy source. The Pave Guard System is also designed to pay for itself over a period of 5-7 years while putting money back in your pocket for another 13 years or more.

Solar panels silently convert light into electricity. They have no moving parts, require little maintenance and are designed to last for many years. Photovoltaic solar panels work best in direct sunlight, but they also work well even on cloudy days.

Solar panels can be used to supply a substantial proportion of the electrical needs of typical households. They can be mounted on the roof or on the ground and connected to the local electric utility or stand alone (not connected to the utility), either supplying all the power directly to the home or pumping the excess back to the utility. Apart from reducing your electricity bill, home owners can often sell any surplus electricity directly back to the utility at an attractive rate.

Wireless for HDMI 60 GHz Extender extends high-quality uncompressed HDMI

gefen

Extend HDMI at 1080p/60 Hz up to 10 meters (30 feet) away!
The Wireless for HDMI 60 GHz Extender extends high-quality uncompressed HDMI 1.3 audio/video at resolutions of up to 1080p/60 Hz to any remote display location up to 30 feet away without the hassle of wires. The Wireless for HDMI 60 GHz Extender employs advanced high-frequency radio technology to support the high multi-gigabit data transfer rates of HDMI 1.3 with 8-channel digital audio.

This is a perfect solution in scenarios where traditional cabling cannot be applied. The plug-and-play installation makes it simpler than ever to extend HDMI to another room or to a ceiling projector in a matter of minutes, all without ever having to run cables and drill through walls or ceilings.
How It Works
The Wireless for HDMI 60 GHz Extender system uses a pair of Sender and Receiver units. The HDMI source is attached to the HDMI input on the Sender unit. The Receiver unit is attached to an HDMI-compliant display in the desired viewing area. The Sender and Receiver are arranged in a line-of-sight orientation with respect to each other and without obstructions in the way of the radio signal path. The Sender and Receiver are powered on and put into pairing mode using their dedicated reset buttons. Within a few seconds, the units find each other and wireless radio pairing mode commences. A sharp and vibrant high-definition picture emerges on the remote extended HDMI-compliant display as AV signal extension completes.

During setup and operation, 4 LED Indicators on the front of the Sender and Receiver units will illuminate to indicate operational states such as power status, pairing activity, strength of the wireless signal, and signal blockage.
