When SmartWake is selected, Zeo will find a time to wake you within a half-hour of your set time, never later. The result should be a slightly easier way to wake up.

Retinal Prosthesis – Helping the blind to see again


We are developing an optical system for a parallel delivery of information and energy to tens of thousands of pixels in the implant. This system permits normal eye scanning to observe a large field of view, as opposed to “hard wiring” of a video camera to the retinal stimulating array using a single emitter-receiver link. The image from a goggles-mounted video camera is processed in a portable microcomputer and then projected with a pulsed IR LED-LCD array onto the retina. The retinal implant has an array of powered photodiodes converting pulses of light into pulsed electrical current using a power from an intraocular photovoltaic battery.

The leading cause of blindness in developed countries is Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), which results in severe and irreversible loss of vision for over two million Americans. The disease causes deterioration of the photoreceptor cells in the central part of the retina, and currently, there is no cure.

John Kanzius Inventor – Water Fuel Cell – Cancer Treatment

John Kanzius Water Fuel Cell/Cancer Treatment

John Kanzius, while researching a way to treat cancer & other diseases, stumbled a across the same principal as Stan Meyer’s Water Fuel Cell. Unlike Meyer’s device, which uses submerged stainless steel electrodes in a common feed stock of water, Mr. Kanzius’ device doesn’t make contact with the water — it pulses relatively low energy across an area, such as the human body, which is made of mostly water, or across a test tube of salt water. The salt in the water helps catalyze the process (by increasing the conductivity of the water).

The device can also be looked at as a water capacitor. Water is the feed stock and the pulses (electrical & radio waves) disassociate the hydrogen & oxygen atoms by magnetically stretching apart the atoms through constant magnetic excitation. Parallel plates, or circular or spiral electrodes or transducers all have the ability to tap energy from the quantum flux field. When these devices are used with water such as John Kanzius’ device, the energy from the quantum flux field is tapped into, then trapped by the water, turning it into a charged gas of diatomic & monatomic hydrogen & oxygen atoms, in a mixture of hydrated electrons. When combusted, the plasma implosion/explosion forms back into pure water. The plasma gas is a stoichiometric blend that is perfect for combustion applications.

This device behaves very similarly to Stan Meyer’s Electron Extraction Circuit (which uses lasers), and is the key electronic mechanism which makes his device a true water fuel cell, because the EEC produces an electrical current. The transducers, which face each other, vibrate a high radio frequency (in the ~20KHZ-200KHZ region). The power is low enough not to cause bodily harm, so is perhaps less than 200 watts. Since there is little if any heat build up between the working transducers, the excess energy exhibited with the Brown’s gas can not be traced, thus pointing to the quantum vacuum as the source of free energy.

John Kanzius’ device may be the same explanation for the technology behind the Segway inventor, Dean Kaman’s newest invention, the WATER PURIFIER.

Stem Cell Contact Lenses Cure Blindness in Less Than a Month

Here’s something that people with poor or no vision will be excited about: three patients had their sight restored in less than a month by contact lenses cultured with stem cells. All three patients were blind in one eye. The researchers extracted stem cells from their working eyes, cultured them in contact lenses for 10 days, and gave them to the patients. Within 10 to 14 days of use, the stem cells began recolonizing and repairing the cornea.

A polymer implant, 8.5 mm in diameter, is embedded with chemical signals that encourage immune cells to attack tumors.

In a world first, scientists have successfully eliminated tumors in mammals using a cancer vaccine carried into the body on a fingernail-sized implant. The new approach uses plastic disks impregnated with tumor-specific antigens and implanted under the skin to reprogram the mammalian immune system to attack tumors.

Most cancer cells easily skirt the immune system, which operates by recognizing and attacking invaders from outside the body. The approach developed by bioengineers and immunologists at Harvard University redirects the immune system to target tumors, and appears both more effective and less cumbersome than other cancer vaccines currently in clinical trials.

Conventional cancer vaccinations remove immune cells from the body, reprogram them to attack malignant tissues, and return them to the body. However, more than 90 percent of reinjected cells die before having any effect in experiments.

The slender implants developed by the group measure 8.5 millimeters in diameter and are made of an FDA-approved biodegradable polymer. Ninety percent air, the disks are highly permeable to immune cells and release cytokines, powerful recruiters of immune-system messengers called dendritic cells.

These cells enter an implant’s pores, where they are exposed to antigens specific to the type of tumor being targeted. The dendritic cells then report to nearby lymph nodes, where they direct the immune system’s T cells to hunt down and kill tumor cells.

“Inserted anywhere under the skin – much like the implantable contraceptives that can be placed in a woman’s arm – the implants activate an immune response that destroys tumor cells,” said David J. Mooney the Robert P. Pinkas Family Professor of Bioengineering in Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering who led the research.

There are some new bots called OSP on the drawing board. Using advance robotics, these guys autonomously work together to contain an oil spill by surrounding it with an inflatable barrier. Once contained, clean-up crews can jump in and suck the oil out. After reading this, my Roomba just quit.  The faster a spill can be dealt with – the better the outcome.
