Camera on a stick – Take photos of yourself
Posted by Gadget_Guy in DIY, Gadgets, Great Ideas, Unique Designs, Videos, iPhone on January 5, 2010

A through-hiker on the Pacific Coast Trail reaches a major mile marker on her 2,700-mile, six-month hike. It’s 7:00 in the morning and she is standing alone on the top of MT. Whitney. The weather is perfect and she can see for miles in all directions. A Kodak moment!
This hiker has two choices: wait hours for someone to come along and take this perfect photo or attempt to take a self- portrait by stretching her arm out as far as she can holding the camera in her hand and trying to guess at a good angle. These self portraits usually end up very disappointing with a blurred close-up of a face and very little scenery in the background.
Now visualize this:
While alone on top of MT. Whitney, this hiker pulls out her 10-gram StickPic, quickly attaches her camera to the end of her hiking pole, and snaps a beautiful, well-proportioned, perfectly centered picture of herself and her surroundings. Even better, while using the StickPic, she uses the video feature on her digital camera and makes a vivid documentary about her trip. If a picture says a thousand words, a video says a million!

Stop Motion, Audio and Video Combine in the Panasonic Lumix GH1
Panasonic has added a powerhouse to the digital camera world with the new Lumix DMC-GH1.
The upgrade from the G1, the Lumix GH1 comes with a higher quality of specs than its predecessor.
It features 12.1 megapixel images (pretty standard SLR these days), video recording ability at 1080p (HIGH DEF) and also, the Lumix GH1 now has the capability to record in high definition Dolby Digital sound.
A digital-SLR, like the Panasonic Lumix GH1, being an all-in-one stop motion and a high definition video and sound recording camera makes it a pretty special tool for any photographer.

Polaroid Two – Digital Instant Photo Camera 7 mega pixel
Posted by Jennifer Anderson in Gadgets, Great Ideas, Innovation on December 18, 2009

Digital photography is great, but nothing beats holding an actual photo in your mitts. So wouldn’t it be spiffing if eggheads created a camera capable of spewing out prints on the fly? They have, and it’s called the Polaroid Two – Digital Instant Camera.
Combining the instant fun of an old school Polaroid camera with the groundbreaking technology of the smash hit PoGo Printer, this up to 7 mega pixel* snapper does exactly what it says on the tin; takes a picture then ejects a print on a 2”x3” slice of sticky-back photo paper. Cool, eh!
…40 seconds later – shazzam!
The whole process takes about forty seconds and, unlike the Polaroid cameras of yesteryear, you can dispense with duds by checking your efforts via the 3” LCD screen. You can also crop pics before printing, add borders, remove red-eye and print dates.
Seeing as instant-gratification is de rigueur these days, there’s never been a better time to buy an instant camera and indulge in a bit of sticky piccy fun. Crack the Polaroid Two out at parties, meetings, festivals, holidays, debauched nights out – you name it.
