Mobile MaxPure with Fresh Water Purification System
Posted by Daoco in DIY, Gadgets, Great Ideas, Innovation, Solar Power, Technology, The Environment, Unique Designs on December 24, 2009

This Mobile MaxPure® (MMP) is a solar-powered generator with a built-in system for the purification of polluted freshwater sources. This system can pump and purify an average of 30,000 gallons each day at a cost of less than one penny per gallon! This calculation includes capital costs and all consumables over the course of the first year. After year 1 the cost reduces to fractions of a penny per gallon because the capital outlay has been paid off.
The unit also provides power to run lights, tools, equipment and sensitive computers and other electronic equipment. Inverter systems for use with US or European specifications are available. You can also purchase the optional satellite communication system and/or the specially designed trailer to easily pull the unit to your site.
The MMP fits easily into standard international shipping containers; 4 fit into a standard 40-foot container. There are lift points built on to the sturdy frame to airlift the unit by helicopter. It can also be transported by truck or boat.
The units have provided water and power under severe conditions. Please see our Project Briefs for more information. The MMP is powder coated to reduce rust and all components are marine grade and sealed against the elements. Please see below for more specifications.

Watercone Solar Still – solar seawater desalination good drinking water
Posted by Richer Dao in DIY, Gadgets, Great Ideas, Innovation, Inventions, Technology, The Environment, Unique Designs, Videos, Wow!!! Factor on December 11, 2009

Solar thermal desalination – front and forward technology to generate drinking water, based exclusively on salt water and solar energy.
Philosophy of the Watercone® concept:
„Many peripheral, de-centralized small units will ensure a better supply of freshwater than one central big generator. If the big one fails, there is no water generation for anyone. If a small one fails, the other ones still keep on working.“

The Element Four WaterMill provides fresh potable water from an unlimited source: the Air
Posted by Richer Dao in Gadgets, Great Ideas, Innovation, Inventions, Technology, The Environment, Wow!!! Factor on December 8, 2009

Watch the video Here
Element Four products generate and purify water – on and off the grid. Our solutions to the basic human need for fresh, clean water can be applied to domestic, commercial, recreational, agricultural, military and humanitarian purposes. Our technology can be used almost anywhere water is needed.
The facts about Earth’s water
Our planet’s natural water cycle provides for all forms of life. At any given moment our planet holds 326 million cubic miles of water. Of this, 97% is saltwater and only 3% is fresh water. Of that 3%, 99.3% is locked in ice.
Our air contains 4,000 cubic miles of water. If it were a lake it would be roughly the size of the Great Lakes combined – which is the world’s largest body of fresh water – and would be constantly refilled.
What air has to offer
In more than half the countries in the world, some of them the poorest, thirstiest, and most crowded, the air is humid enough to yield huge amounts of precious water. The atmosphere contains 4 to 25 grams of water vapor per cubic meter, while the WaterMill can change 10% to 40% of that to liquid. Water vapor is constantly replenished by Earth’s natural cycle, so extracting water from the air can continue indefinitely without impacting local ecosystems.
Most nations within 30 degrees latitude of the equator actually have more vapor than they need – an average of 15 to 20 grams of water per cubic meter of air.
Residential WaterMill
The original WaterMill is designed for the residential user. It provides families with a clean, sustainable and cost-effective source of water for drinking and cooking. It produces 11 litres of water per day, and mounts to the exterior of your home, drawing water from the air outside into point-of-use systems inside. The WaterMill is self-regulating, maximizing water production, while minimizing energy consumption.
